Nunes Correa was founded in 1856 by Jacinto Nunes Correia, the descendant of a family of tailors, whose history dates back to 1786. Jacinto offered the highest quality at very high prices. His skill as a tailor and his fame earned him a valuable portfolio of clients ranging from members of the aristocracy, bishops, senior politicians to the writers of the Portuguese royal family.

Today, Nunes Correa continues to offer traditional high quality, but at prices much more affordable and competitive as a result of a direct sales strategy without intermediaries. Primarily it sells its own brand, negotiates directly with the factories, often in Portugal, and has been producing its own shoes for over 60 years.

Immersed in tradition, this beautiful shop lined up with wood panels stands since 1919 in Augusta Street, the main commercial area of Lisbon. We recommend passing through the triumphal arch of Rua Augusta - a pedestrian street that bears the typical Portuguese pavement - with outdoor cafes, shops of international brands, artisans and, of course, our shop Nunes Correa. Motivated by the desire to innovate, Nunes Correa insists on the development of design and materials of our items to meet the demands of our customers. Therefore, always with the intention to serve you better, you can now search our items through our online store with the support of a completely new team of specialists.

Who we are ...

Mario Leao joined the family business after completing his training as a lawyer, to take over Nunes Correa since 1995.
